Resilience is our ability to adapt, cope and thrive in spite of challenges and adversity. There are many kinds of resilience, including personal and community resilience. We all benefit when we focus on building the resilience of ourselves & others.

Resilience is built through connection. Community is medicine.

In May 2023 The Joy Labs provided a key note and community engaged art activity focusing on building community resilience at Chippewa Strong in Chippewa Falls WI.

This event (a second in a 2-part series) was the result of multiple partners including the American Red Cross local chapter, Chippewa County Department of Public Health, Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District, Chippewa Falls Police Department, Chippewa Falls YMCA, Chippewa Health Improvement Partnership, Community Foundation of Chippewa Falls, Family Support Center, HSHS St Joseph’s Hospital Chippewa Falls, JONAH of the Chippewa Valley, Marshfield Clinic Health System, Mental Health Matters Coalition, NAMI-National Alliance on Mental Illness, United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley, UW-Eau Claire Students, UW-Extension, and UW-La Crosse Students.
